I've had no issues with adblocker for over half a year. Works flawlessly on both browser and mobile browser.

Problem solved! I don't need to think about this premium stuff any more. Recently, I've been playing with the idea of paying for premium, but that's no longer the case. Specifically, the family pack is the one that kinda made some limited sense in the past. I can see the kind of game Google is playing, and I'm not planning to participate.

It very much is and is talked about basically nonstop everytime the topic comes up from any content creator that's been in the game for longer then a decade.

The ad based system the internet is built on is unraveling.

uBlock is already pretty much known as the best adblocker in the internet. Not sure what more exposure it could get.

The internet isn't built on it. The commercial websites who do not have other products (as in all the websites related to RL goods, stores,...) are.

It's better to name known safe options rather than leave it up to user search. The entities that work against extensions like uBO are already well aware of their existence, so hiding their names has no benefit.

Case in point - uBlock and uBlock Origin are not the same, with the former being a bastardised version that does 'acceptable ads'. There are plenty of other poor blocking options out there for the unsuspecting to stumble into besides that.

Personal setup is Librewolf/uBO on the client and pfBlockerNG/Snort for network level blocking/additional security layer.

Lul I have uBlock origin and no ads for free

There is another benefit - it can be played in the background if I remember properly.

I confirm that I will see zero ads.

I would of if there was a family tier that plays YouTube without ads in my country. The content I watch is good and authors deserve payment IMO. Sadly there is currently no competition, there are some marginal subscription services and there is peertube which doesn't have monetization.

YT is only usable with ad blockers nowadays. And then it does not make a difference if you have a subscription or not.

I would subscribe YT if they had a reasonably priced ad free tier, but if it does not make a difference, I'll watch it for free.

My ublock origin was having issues today and I had to scale back some of the stuff being blocked.

Most of the time reloading the filters fixes uBlock Origin not working

They must be making extra effort lately. I got the “Ad blockers are prohibited” popup twice today on two systems. One Linux and one windows. Librewolf, UO and SB on both.

Was able to close popup and move on.
