Seems like a lot of this technology is very untested and there are too many variables to make it where it should be out on the roads.

At one time I worked for IBM, supporting a nationwide company. There was a top guy who (like in the above story) thought he was hot shit. I think he was something like the CFO, but his ineptitude was recognized and he was pushed out. This company allowed people to move to a lower position, and he always thought he knew more about computers than everyone else, so he took the position of CTO. One day I got a call from him, ranting that Outlook wouldn't open and these computers were hopelessly broken. The normal procedure was to remote connect into the caller's computer to directly fix any problems, but he decided he was smarter than the tech support people, and refused to allow me to access his machine. Fortunately I had direct contact with the on-site tech guy, who knew what he would be facing and went to the CTO's office. When he got back a couple minutes later, I asked him what the issue was. "Outlook was already open, it was just minimized to the task bar."

Except that traditional Google search is often filled with AI-generated sites without any value. I use DDG and if that fails it's simple to use their 'bangs' to try other engines.

No, the problem is they engineered something they didn't need to, because Musk thinks everything should be electric because it's cool. They had to then engineer a mechanical release, because it was required by law (for good reason) Mechanical door locks would have been cheaper. The fly by wire in the cyber truck is far more expensive, heavier, and far more dangerous than the very well polished power steering systems every other car uses Maybe it's something like they wanted to make more money on repairs or something... But even that they could've done better by starting from very common, cheap technology Let's be clear... The real problem here is that Elon Musk, opinion having idiot that he is, made decisions from on high with very little understanding of engineering

Maybe for the top tier influencers, but there are a ton of people making a reasonable living just by doing it what they enjoy. For example, strategy game streamers: FlorryWorry is probably the most popular EU4 streamer and has won the tournament something like 7-years straight; he makes enough to go full time NumotTheNummy is perhaps the best MtG Arena draft streamer, and has tons of subscribers (LSV honorary mention, who got famous for being a top-tier MtG pro tour competitor) Hikaru Nakamura - #2 chess player in the world, has a very healthy following There are plenty more who are popular because of their skill at what they stream about and are competent enough at keeping people's attention. If you're the best, people will come to you, it's not always just luck. A lot of people get there through luck, but a lot earn their way too.
