What I really don't get is that there are in fact models that you can feed a document too and they will directly copy/paste quote relevant parts of that document in their reply complete with a little reference to the correct page. Basically a smarter ctrl-F function that can take sentences as input. When that exists why is google using the probabilistic shit in their search?

This post makes it look like there's something serious ly wrong with openvpn, but it's just them not wanting to deal with it and deprecating it. Oh well, guess Ill put a note not to use them. My country blocks VPN protocols and wg specifically, so for my usecase I need as many protocols supported as possible, preferrably mimicking other innocuous protocols.

And maybe apple isn’t promoting Grok because they don’t want to promote mechahitler and it’s deepfake Taylor Swift nudes… I hate Apple, but this would be an entirely reasonable stance.

It's not the BBC's job to be an authority. Their job is to report what the (relevant) authorities are saying: DeepSeek challenged certain key assumptions about AI that had been championed by American executives like Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT-maker OpenAI. "We were on a path where bigger was considered better," according to Sid Sheth, CEO of AI chip startup d-Matrix. Perhaps maxing out on data centres, servers, chips, and the electricity to run it all wasn't the way forward after all. Despite DeepSeek ostensibly not having access to the most powerful tech available at the time, Sheth told the BBC that it showed that "with smarter engineering, you actually can build a capable model". That said, seems suspect that an AI startup CEO is getting this much airtime. I would have preferred an industry analyst or an AI researcher.

    You see in 1948 where it's 4.5 and jumps to 9 a year later? That's a 50% crash in a year Next year it's 15. In 1952 it's already 28. In 1956 it's 40, up from 28 a year earlier. Crashed again in 58, 62, 64, 72, 74, 75, 77, 78, 79, 81, 82, 84, 86, 88, 89, 90, 02, 03, 13, 15, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23 My previous 10 times comment was taking consecutive years as a single crash

Your response is: want to be more productive? Replace the CEO and pointless middle management with Ai! Image how much money the shareholders would save!

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. I kinda assumed they already supported it, like YouTube Shorts adopting the vertical format for shorts after Ticktock blew up.
