Keeta's success was made possible first because the Hong Kong government Competition Commission was investigating Foodpanda and Deliveroo's contractual terms with restaurants, suggesting their terms may “hinder entry and expansion by new or smaller platforms and soften competition in the market.” After Keeta entered the city, it launched a price war with a so-called “cash-burning” strategy, which includes offering special deals with chain stores, offering up to HKD 300 (USD 38.22) coupons for newly registered users during its launch, introducing a “punctuality guarantee” system to compensate customers with coupons if the delivery does not arrive within a designated timeframe. Moreover, unlike other platforms which charge non-paid members a delivery fee, Keeta lets all platform users enjoy free delivery services as the restaurants and Keeta cover the cost. […] Firstly, it lowered the pay rate of riders’ long-distance delivery from an average of HKD 60 (USD 7.64) per task to HKD 50 (6.37) and shorter-distance delivery from an average of HKD 50 to HKD 30–40 (USD 3.82–5.10). Secondly, it introduced a “K Go” scheme to force delivery workers to lose 20–30 percent of their pay rate in exchange for a higher priority in receiving service orders. Lastly, it launched a “Grab the task” alert feature that compels delivery workers to constantly check the app to compete for orders.

An LLM is an ordered series of parameterized / weighted nodes which are fed a bunch of tokens, and millions of calculations later result generates the next token to append and repeat the process. It's like turning a handle on some complex Babbage-esque machine. LLMs use a tiny bit of randomness ("temperature") when choosing the next token so the responses are not identical each time. But it is not thinking. Not even remotely so. It's a simulacrum. If you want to see this, run ollama with the temperature set to 0 e.g. ollama run gemma3:4b >>> /set parameter temperature 0 >>> what is a leaf You will get the same answer every single time.

When I worked in IT, we only let people install every other version of Windows. Our Linux user policy was always “mainstream distro and the LTS version.” Mac users were strongly advised to wait 3 months to upgrade. One guy used FreeBSD and I just never questioned him because he was older and never filed one help desk request. He probably thought I was an idiot. (And I was.) Anyway, I say all that to say don’t use Windows 11 on anything important. It’s the equivalent of a beta. Windows 12 (or however they brand it) will probably be stable. I don’t use Windows much anymore and maybe things have changed but the concepts in the previous paragraph could be outdated. But it’s a good rule of thumb.

Got it, at that point (extremely high voltage) you'd need suppression at the panel. Which I would hope people have inline, but not expect like an LVD.

The topic is more nuanced, all the logs indicate email/password combos that were compromised. While it is possible this is due to a malware infection, it could be something as simple as a phishing website. In this case, credentials are entered but no "malware" was installed. The point being it doesn't look great that someone has ANY compromises... But again, anyone who's used the Internet a bit has some compromised. For example, in a password manager (especially the one on iPhone), you'll often be notified of all your potentially compromised accounts. [image: 7a5e8350-e47e-4d67-b096-e6e470ec7050.jpeg]

It’s infuriating that Safari/Apple only allows me to choose from five different search engines. I self-host my own SearXNG instance and have to use a third-party extension to redirect my queries.
