Trump extends the TikTok ban deadline for a third time; there is no legal basis for the extensions and it is unclear how many times the deadline can be extended

The legal basis is "Trump gets to do whatever the fuck he wants because none of the checks and balances have any balls to check and balance this motherfucker."

I mean, sort of, yes, but also no? It's another tool of power for a tyrannical government to wield, even if it is against companies I dislike.
schrieb am 20. Juni 2025, 01:08 zuletzt editiert vonIs it tyrannical to make companies obey laws they don't agree with? I mean it's probably tyrannical for the law to exist in the first place but this feels like a "well well well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions" for these companies propping up establishment candidates who line up be cucked by Israel.

The far right is using TikTok to reach young demographics. Banning it directly contradicts his interests.
schrieb am 20. Juni 2025, 02:05 zuletzt editiert vonYeah, all of the “vibes are off” jokes aside, TikTok is drastically different after the ban was lifted. I have gotten straight up racist and fascist propaganda on my fyp, and there are a lot of sympathetic comments on those videos. But I never got those videos before, because my algorithm was automatically filtering them out. It’s almost as if the app has been programmed to bypass the algorithm and occasionally show alt-right talking points to everyone, just in the hopes of casting as wide a net as possible.

By that logic, you'd think trump would be a slave.
He IS a 34x convicted criminal after all.

Y'all, I just got my replacement tooth, so I'm finally off my mechanical diet, and I've been waiting months to eat some hard shell TACOS! Some SPICY CHICKEN TACOS!

The legal basis is someone with standing would have to sue him over it. Tiktokm certainly isn't going to and Congress... Well.
schrieb am 20. Juni 2025, 11:55 zuletzt editiert vonMaybe Elmo could, now that they broke up. He could argue that TikTok existing makes Twitter's videos less popular.

Which is why they lable anyone they arrest as a criminal, doesn't have to be true. You heard Trump, having a trial for each one would take too long. So just slap a label on them and say you're though on crime.

schrieb am 20. It's possible to argue yourself there but the bar is incredibly high. If you can't assign direct provable causation and redress, you're SOL.
It's kind of like how nobody really could challenge DACA in the courts from the Republican side because all the harms they cited were hypothetical.

How is he being blackmailed by TWO superpowers? China and Russia both have his balls.
