I don't think it's realistic, but what they mean is that the community can in theory get together and decide to fork the code, collectively deciding that BlackRock's Bitcoin addresses are no longer part of their Bitcoin network. The BlackRock Bitcoin would be incompatible with the forked code. The result of a fork like that is two coins: BlackRock Bitcoin and Everyone Else Bitcoin. Every holder of the original Bitcoin gets an equal amount of both. It's a popularity contest between the two resulting Bitcoins to determine the price of each. In 2017, Bitcoin was struggling to scale. It had absurd transaction fees due to demand (just like Ethereum a few years later), and the community couldn't come to a consensus on how to upgrade it. 10% of the community forked the code to upgrade it by increasing block size, while everyone else opted for an L2 scaling solution. The result for holders was that they ended up with both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash in their wallets. Weirdly, the combined market value ended up being higher than value of the Bitcoin before the fork. I sold my Bitcoin Cash immediately and pocketed the money, expecting the price to go to zero. It did not.

Okay, I'd be interested to hear what you think is wrong with this, because I'm pretty sure it's more or less correct. Some sources for you to help you understand these concepts a bit better: What DLSS is and how it works as a starter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Learning_Super_Sampling Issues with modern "optimization", including DLSS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJu_DgCHfx4 TAA comparisons (yes, biased, but accurate): https://old.reddit.com/r/FuckTAA/comments/1e7ozv0/rfucktaa_resource/

A private company is selling cheap tablets to inmates to let them communicate with their family. They have to use "digital stamps" to send messages, 35 cents a piece and come in packs of 5, 10 or 20. Each stamp covers up to 20,000 characters or one single image. They also sell songs, at $1.99 a piece, and some people have spent thousands over the years. That's also now just going away. Then you get to the part about the new company. Who already has a system in Tennessee where inmates have to pay 3-5 cents per minute of tablet usage. Be that watching a movie they've bought or just typing a message.

While I completely agree with you about the absence of one-liners and meme comments, and even more left leaning community, there's still that strong element of "gotcha" in discussions. Also tonnes of people not reading an article before commenting (at a better rate than Reddit probably), and a generally even more doomer attitude is common here.

I kinda don't want anyone other than a doctor determining it, tbh. Fuck the human bean counters just as much as the AI ones. Hopefully we can just start growing organs instead of having to even make such a grim decision and everyone can get new livers. Even if they don't need them.
