Any idea why it didn't work out for the above post which I made. Also, previewing is nice but ability to play video inline like mastodon or misskey would be better.

Because link preview only works on naked links on separate lines. You wrapped your link in markup so the plugin ignored it.

Okay, got it. Now waiting for the feature to play videos inline.

Okay, so this was fixed in 4.4.1 . But forum is now runing 4.4.0

julian As suggested by you, searching the URL worked,but I still have one problem and one query-

1. Peertube videos(from tilvids.com) don't start playing. In mastodon and misskey, the hls fragments(~200kB) are fetched but in nodebb, it seems that the entire file is fetched (~150MB) and so playback dosen't start. I tried with two different videos from tilvids.com and got the same result in both cases.
2. Can peertube videos be played only by searching or will they also play if a remote post from a peertube account (like thelinuxexperiment@tilvids.com )contains the video and that post comes in my feed?

bh4-tech they seem to be playing fine for me.

Not sure why you're having issues with playback, but we don't stream piece by piece, it's just a video element playing the mp4 file.

When you search the video, that is the post that would come through your feed.
