ajay_89 the admin bearer simply allows you to call the NodeBB API as any uid. A user token is keyed to a specific ID. In the Android app you would probably want to use a user token based on the logged in user. That is because it is likely unsafe to store the admin token in the APK. It can be decompiled and leaked.

You can use the S3 plugin. However, the underlying problem is that you are using some sort of service with an ephemeral virtual drive. It gets cleared every time the service restarts. If you don't want to use s3, you will have to set up a volume and mount it to the /public/uploads folder.

jdt@enigmatick.social could it be a mistake in the reply? For example, if the reply had all of the mentions removed I would think Mastodon would send out an object with empty to and cc.

Theoretically, it shouldn't matter. In the ideal case every connected server should host a full and complete copy of the data from the originating server (as xkdrxodrixkr@feddit.org says, that's B) Reality is a bit different, but not enough to warrant always picking B. Just share whichever you'd like, but B is the most right.

That's probably why I push so hard for discussions about fedi to take place on fedi.Yeah, I am 100% on board with this.By the way, Ghost already uses Discourse (https://forum.ghost.org/). Enabling federation there (for specific categories) could help reduce fragmentation @johnonolan

ska correct, since web-push relies on more modern browser supported technology and doesn't require a third-party service (in this case, ntfy.sh)

    Hello, I am trying to figure out the malfunction between my lemmy instance (0.19.2 on feddit.it) and my nodebb instance (4.4.4 on citiverse.co.uk). I am trying to follow from NodeBB some remote communities on lemmy but some work while others do not. For example: https://citiverse.it/category/test@feddit.it here I see posts actually made on test@feddit.it while here: https://citiverse.it/category/eticadigitale@feddit.it and https://citiverse.it/category/energia@feddit.it but on many others like https://citiverse.it/category/scienza@feddit.it etc it is all blank while communities are followed and have made posts on Lemmy. I tried following a new community and this is the log I see on NodeBB. Is this correct? 138.199.xx - - [02/Jul/2025:09:35:06 +0000] "GET /category/gdr@feddit.it HTTP/1.1" 200 112488 "https://citiverse.it/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0" 127.0.0.1 - - [02/Jul/2025:09:35:06 +0000] "GET /assets/templates/500.js?_=1751448906900 HTTP/1.0" 200 1029 "https://citiverse.it/category/gdr@feddit.it" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0" 127.0.0.1 - - [02/Jul/2025:09:35:07 +0000] "GET /assets/templates/partials/toast.js?_=1751448906901 HTTP/1.0" 200 1703 "https://citiverse.it/category/gdr@feddit.it" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0" io: 1 emit [ 'checkSession', 1 ] io: 1 emit [ 'setHostname', 'citiverse.it' ] io: 1 on [ { type: 2, nsp: '/', id: 0, data: [ 'meta.rooms.enter', { enter: 'category_https://feddit.it/c/gdr' } ] } ] 138.199.xx - - [02/Jul/2025:09:35:08 +0000] "PUT /api/v3/categories/https%3A%2F%2Ffeddit.it%2Fc%2Fgdr/watch HTTP/1.1" 200 91 "https://citiverse.it/category/gdr@feddit.it" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0" io: 1 on [ { type: 2, nsp: '/', id: 14, data: [ 'admin.logs.get', null ] } ] io: 1 on [ { type: 2, nsp: '/', id: 14, data: [ 'admin.logs.get', null ] } ] io: 1 on [ { type: 2, nsp: '/', id: 14, data: [ 'admin.logs.get', null ] } ] I saw this thread and thought it was correct to answer here even though the problem seems slightly different from what I have read. Can't imagine any situation where a high-stakes championship would be better off with subjectivity. Aside — it ain't "AI" making line calls, it's just the same bog standard electronic line calling in place at other tournaments. Thoroughly boring and reliable technology.

Well, I feel silly...I was trying to send messages to my old Mastodon account for a moment there, when I started sending the messages to my actual Mastodon account, they got through just fine and within seconds. Sleep is a very important thing for system administrators, I think I need to get more
