The mechanic is usually the actual worker - you run a repair shop But what is being repaired? A machine of some kind? And the machine is operated in pursuit of another actual productive activity, right? Machines are just about the application of mechanical force in some way, and that in itself isn't an end goal. Instead, we want that machine to move stuff from one place to another, to separate things that are apart or smush/mix separate things together, to apply heat or cooling to stuff, to transmit radiation or light in particular patterns. Everything in the economy is just enabling other parts of the economy (including the informal parts of the economy). Physical movement of objects isn't special, compared to anything else: kicking a ball on TV, singing into a microphone, authorizing a wire transfer, entering a purchase order, answering a phone, etc. I'm not seeing a real distinction between an IT consulting business and a heavy equipment maintenance/repair business. The business itself is there to provide services to other businesses.

What makes even more sense is that they now might be secretly forced to hack for the government in exchange for bread and water and staying out of prison.

This would be better suited in some casual ranting community. Or one concerned with tech bros. I think it's completely off topic here.

These Tesla owners who love their cars but hate his involvement with government are a bit ridiculous because one of the biggest reasons he got in loved with shilling for the right is that the government was looking into regulations and investigations concerning how unsafe Tesla cars are.

You do not need to ask for consent to use functional cookies, only for ones that are used for tracking, which is why you'll still have some cookies left afterwards and why properly coded sites don't break from the rejection. Most websites could strip out all of the 3rd party spyware and by doing so get rid of the popup entirely. They'll never do it because money, obviously, and sometimes instead cripple their site to blackmail you into accepting them.

I'm specifically talking about toil when it comes to my job as a software developer. I already know I need an if statement and a for loop all wrapped in a try catch. Rather then spending a couple minutes coding that I have cursor do it for me instantly then fill out the actual code. Or, ive written something in python and it needs to be converted to JavaScript. I can ask Claude to convert it one to one for me and test it, which comes back with either no errors or a very simple error I need to fix. It takes a minute. Instead I could have taken 15min to rewrite it myself and maybe make more mistakes that take longer.
