I know that because I do a lot of street photography and there is no law in the UK forbidding photography of people in public spaces, I didn't write there was one. It sounds like you "know" that photography is "protected" because you need that to be true. it’s quite easy for you to Google this Indeed. For anyone who's not good at googling things, I recommend the UK ICO. but I can’t provide you with a law condoning it as that’s not how it works. That's true. You can't because you are wrong. You should know that your take on the GDPR is nonsense. It sounds like you violate it on a habitual basis. Again show me in GDPR where it expressly forbids marching a face to a public dataset. What do you mean "again"? The GDPR forbids this in, of course, Article 6 and, more particularly, Article 9, but also gives exceptions.

Ye I expect so, I don't like the way this author just doesn't bother explaining her points. She just states that she disagrees and says they should be left to their own rules. Which is probably fine, but that's just lazy or she's not mentioning the difference for another reason

Yeah, Lemmy has a VERY large Linux user base, which means Windows discussions tend to get mocked or dismissed. But the reality is that Windows is still the dominant OS for the vast majority of users, by leaps and bounds. Linux runs the world’s infrastructure, but Windows is what the average user boots up every day. “This exploit only works on the average user’s OS. And it only works if the user clicks the “yes” button to escalate permissions, which they have been conditioned to always do without question. Obviously this isn’t an exploit to worry about.”

This doesn't really surprise me, I've gotten weird vibes from Pimax for years. Not so much to do with their hardware, but how their sales / promo team operates. A while back at my old workplace we randomly got contacted by Pimax trying to have us carry their headset, which was weird since we didn't sell VR stuff or computers even, just other electronics. It was a very out of place request which we basically said we wouldn't consider it until we can verify the quality of the headset, after which they never replied.

It's extremely traceable. There is a literal public ledger if every single transaction.
