YouTube in the past suggested things to you even without having a profile on you. You can suggest things to people without having their complete or partial watch history. Some videos are popular with nearly everyone with factors like watch time, user engagement, upvotes, shares, etc.

Right now they're not doing that. They're explicitly refusing to do that for all users.

Honestly, I like it. I run google and all of its platforms in their own tab containers, without signing in and that's what my Youtube looks like. It's great, I can search for the thing I need, and otherwise interact with google ad spam as little as possible

ReVanced (a patched version of the official app) is straight up better than Premium because it can get rid of all the crap corporate insists on shoving into customers' faces. My YouTube app has a subscriptions tab (that only shows videos, not shorts or random
"informative" carousels) and my profile tab with all my playlists, and nothing else.

It's glorious in its simplicity. Why would I ever pay Google for a worse product?

I specifically disabled my watch history to get this. If I want to watch something, I'll go to my subscriptions. Why would I want to interact with YouTube's algorithm?

I see it whenever I go there.

In an internet full of advertising and distractions, it's nice to see a landing page that lets me decide what I want to consume.

Isn't this better than trying to make it so that you never click off YouTube, the way it works if you are logged in? I would much rather have no recommendations than have an algorithm give me recommendations with the express purpose of maximising ad revenue extraction from me

Mine looks very similar to that intentionally. I sign in to see my subscribed channels and block the fuck out of all the bullshit.

I've been running librewolf and it logs me out of everything every time I shut it down, so this is my normal view.

I love it actually. Better than nazi adjacent vids and body horror stuff like boil maintenance and botfly removal. Fresh youtube accounts get the WORST stuff.

This is not no-account YT, but no-cookies YT. If you are interested in experiencing this, some extensions automatically delete cookies for certain websites for you. I use Cookie AutoDelete

I do miss the Mr. animal slop, clickbait nonsense with hundreds of millions of views, and occasional original content

What's bizarre and dismal is that someone is so starved for dopamine and attention from corporations that this is how they perceive what life looks like when you are not being targetted.

This is my normal view and it is far better.
