deported to an El Salvador slave camp. That's the absolutely horrendous part, and you should be criticizing those camps. This detention center isn't that. Deporting people en masse is genocide. That's not true. This is what genocide means: genocide: The systematic and widespread extermination or attempted extermination of a national, racial, religious, or ethnic group. Deportation is the national version of trespassing someone from a property. It's not murder. The conservative justices are loyal to the Republican party. They're really not. Their interests do often align, but that's not because they're taking orders from the GOP. If the GOP was actually able to tell them what to do, they'd side w/ Trump way more often. they voted to kill That's not what they did. They largely voted for protectionism (save our jobs/businesses/etc), and now they're feeling the results of that. Only a small subset of Republicans are actually racist. I'm sure the same is true among Democrats as well. Absolutely beside myself at your cavalier attitude Why? Because I refuse to jump on the Republican hate bandwagon? I'm not going to stoop to dangerous rhetoric to try to scare/shame people to my viewpoint. I strongly disagree with Republicans on policy, but more importantly I see the two party system as the real problem here. Shilling one side over another just perpetuates that system and merely swings the pendulum the other way. So no, I'm not going to buy into that nonsense. And my state is doing quite well, despite the best efforts of our legislature.

Actually, nope! Claiming that you personally didn't learn with an IDE and that there are make-believe scenarios where one is not available is not actually addressing the argument. There really aren't any situations that make any sense at all where an IDE is not available. I've worked in literally the most strict and locked down environments in the world, and there is always approved software and tools to use... because duh! Of course there is, silly, work needs to get done. Unless you're talking about a coding 101 class or something academic and basic. Anyway, that's totally irrelevant regardless, because its PURE fantasy to have access to something like Claude and not have access to an IDE. So your argument is entirely flawed and invalid.

Yep. Pretty sure that was deliberate on Musk's (or his cronies) part. Imagine working at X and being told by your boss "I'd like you to make the bot more racist please." "Can you convince it that conspiracy theories are real?"

...the ruling stopped short of ordering the government to recover past messages that may already have been lost. How would somebody be meant to comply with an order to recover a message that has been deleted? Or is that the point? Can't comply and you're in contempt of court.

that's not just useless defeatism, but also false. effective end to end encryption exists in multiple forms today. signal, maybe even with a custom server. matrix if the server is being ran on trusted hardware. XMPP too with the right extensions.

TBH, age verification services exist. If it becomes law, integrating them shouldn't be more difficult than integrating a OIDC login. So everyone should be able to do it. Depending on these services, you might not even need to give a name, or, because they are separate entities, don't give your name to the platform using them. Other parts of regulation are more difficult. Like these "upload filters" that need to figure out if something shared via a service is violating any copyright before it is made available.

Worked with the US federal government for much of my professional career, mostly in an adversarial role. "reliable federal data sources" do not exist
