I don’t want to convert anyone. Just because you suggested it can’t be easier. I warmly recommend anyone to try it though.

Thank you for this comment. I was very hyperbolic in my reference to Skynet and I take ownership of that. Bad joke on my part, but I’ll take the downvotes along with it. Will there be a need for more controls in the future? Absolutely! Right now they’re largely behind a terminal and a machine we can control. But what about drones or non-humanoid bots? Then there’s a case for undue harm

Active ISA would be a disaster. My fairly modern car is unable to reliably detect posted or implied speed limits. Sometimes it overshoots by more than double and sometimes it mandates more than 3/4 slower. The problem is the way it is and will have to be done is by means of optical detection. GPS speed measurement can also be surprisingly unreliable. Especially in underground settings like long pass-unders and tunnels. If the system would be based on something reliable like local wireless communications between speed limit postings it would be a different issue - would also come with a significant risc of abuse though. Also the passive ISA was the first thing I disabled. And I abide by posted speed limits.

It dissolves into salt water. Except it doesn't dissolve, this is not the term they should be using, you can't just dry out the water and get the plastic back. It breaks down into other things. I'm pretty sure an ocean full of dissolved plastic would be a way worse ecological disaster than the current microplastic problem... I've seen like 3-4 articles about this now and they all use the term dissolve and it's pissing me off.

they should be required to be designed to be safe in the way people actually use them, as opposed to this hypothetical driver who has duct taped thier hands to the wheel...
