'Fortnite' Lobbies Can Now Have Up to 92% Bots - Players Are Furious Over Supposed OG Season 3 Update
-
Bots in Fortnite are no secret but it really has gotten bad, huh? I remember trying the game out some years ago, was annoyed by the obvious bots in my games and never touched it again after one session. Things must've gotten more downhill since.
Funny thing is, even if your skills were in the bracket for more human weighted matches, you’d not have hit them in your first few sessions. The first few matches are always 100% bots to give you a feeling for the game without the rick of being steam rolled by humans.
There’s also the problem of matches being 100 people and not starting until it hits about that number. Imagine the fun of sitting and waiting for 10 minutes for people to hop on.

Back in the day we dreamed of games with large war zones and hundred of people. Sadly, technology wasn't advanced enough. So we would have bits running around everywhere. Simpler times

I never even played fortnite, but i watched some videos on it, and it's pretty weird. I can just assume it's for children who don't care because they don't know and actually have a chance playing and winning. Marvel rivals put you in pity matches after you lost a game or two and it's ridiculous. It's just a waste of time. But even if the bots are so obvious, there are still teammates that go: let's go guys, we got this.
They have a combined 3 kills and we have like 30 each. There is no reason playing this. -

Bots were a big reason why I didn't continue playing Naraka. A battle royale that has bots is just awful. I'd rather have long queues than a BR lobby with a handful of people.

Are you one? This is making zero sense.
OP's post is about fortnite, the top commenter of this comment chain added on a link about Twitter. Both are about a supposedly popular thing being overwhelmingly just full of bots. What's not to get?

'Fortnite OG' lobbies may now have as little as eight real players, according to a report from a prominent Epic Games leaker.
In a lot of the games I play, I'd be happy to have that many.

This is the reason I stopped playing pubg and I couldn't get my head round it either. In theory people may enjoy it more because it's easier to win, and who doesn't like winning? Yes it's not a real win against bots but the bots are a secret so maybe it feels like a real win?
But it's obvious that you're against bots. If people enjoy playing against bots why not just include a bot mode?
I see a few possible reasons
-
Most people are ignorant to the bots. They play a few games, they win, they're happy. They don't realise they only had 4 humans in their lobby.
-
People eventually realise they're against bots but the devs are stupid. They did some focus groups and detected people being happy. These people would have eventually realised they're against bots and hated it but the focus groups didn't detect that. Like a pepsi challenge.
-
Blissful ignorance? People kind of know they're against bots but turn a blind eye and wins still feel good. They wouldn't play a specific 100% bot mode because they want a "real win"

I spend this time playing fortnite with my friends. We all talk, have some easy fun, no need to stress like in cs-go or valorant. Wait time is so fast and we dont care about the bots so much because at the end all the bots are dead and real players are remaining. We can stop playing any time we want not like legue of legends where if you quit in the midle of the match you get a penalty. The game is free so if I delete it and move on to play something else, I will not be bothered like if I would’ve bought the game.

There was a bot mode! It's called PvE!

But I also assumed I was shooting a bunch of kids that barely understood the controls.
