Right most people I meet day to day are maybe a bit interested but don't care much. To me this is a chicken vs egg situation. I think a lot of people see this as the media responding to people. I think it's the other way around and I'm trying to understand why. To me, it looks certain that the media is agenda setting with AI. I watched this with the war on terror, anti immigration views, Ebola, imaginary waves of crime that never existed. I can see the headlines, the tone, the framing are all so similar. I just don't understand why. It's a powerful tool, my default opinion is always that this technology does balance some power in society and so by keeping it as a tool of the rich while the rest reject it is important culturally.

I really don't understand the "LLM as therapy" angle. There's no way people using these services understand what is happening underneath. So wouldn't this just be textbook fraud then? Surely they're making claims that they're not able to deliver. I have no problem with LLM technology and occasionally find it useful, I have a problem with grifters.

...you just have to trust that those reviews won't get "adjusted" in the process...

The supported hardware/targets with Debian 13.0 on RISC-V include the SiFive HiFive Unleashed, SiFive HiFive Unmatched, Microchip Polarfire, and the VisionFive 2 and other JH7110 SoC platforms. Plus QEMU can work with Debian RISC-V as an emulated/VM target. Other RISC-V single board computers may work fine with Debian 13.0 if resorting to using their vendor kernels. Support for additional boards in the future may come to Debian 13 via Trixie-Backports.

As someone else mentioned: Helion Energy: Located in Everett, Helion is developing a magneto-inertial fusion technology and has announced plans for the world's first fusion power plant in Washington State. They have also secured a significant investment and a power purchase agreement with Microsoft for electricity from their fusion plant. Zap Energy: Also based in Everett, Zap Energy is focusing on developing affordable, compact, and scalable fusion energy technology. They are working towards a commercially viable fusion energy solution and have received visits from state leaders to witness their progress. Avalanche Energy: Avalanche is planning a facility in Eastern Washington for commercial-scale testing of radioactive fusion technologies, according to GeekWire.

I think both peace and war are profitable. But those that profit from war may be more pushy than those that profit from peace, and so may get their way even as an unpopular minority . Unless, the left (usually more pro peace) learns a few lessons from the right and places good outcomes above the holier than thou moral purity. "I've never made anyone uncomfortable" is not the merit badge that some think it is. Of course the left can never be a mirror copy of the right because the left cannot afford to give as few fucks about anything as the right (who represent the already-haves economic incumbents; it's not called the "fuck you money" for nothing). But the left can be way tougher and nuancedly uncompromising and even calculatingly and carefully millitant. Might does not make right but might DOES make POLICY. You need both right and might to live under a good policy. Lotta good it does anyone to be right and insightful on all the issues and have zero impact anywhere.
