It would probably be more if there weren't so many Linux gatekeepers that tell people to "go back to Windows/Apple" when they ask a questions.

A lot of it kicks back to companies as well. If every time someone interviews for a new job they are telling users they need to run their programs or even just the application for the interview from a Windows machine it pressures users into going back. I always see shit like that for stuff that is even just browser based. I prefer not to install zoom, teams, and such and just open in the browser, but ive run into companies saying their typing tests and other pre employment material only run on Windows. It's usually false, as I never actually have needed it to install Windows, but it sows doubt in people who don't want to take chances when they are already in a potentially tight spot.

That was my Goal Phone, yes! Either that, or the N8, but the 5800 was the only thing I could afford at the time:)) They were really nice phones, properly into "smartphones" by that point - the 5800 was more like a... clever phone:)) Oh, nooo!:( I'm so sorry, that's how I lost my 5800, too! Got mugged at night, ffs..

It wasn't immediately clear, I think you need to change your username to IUseArchBtw so we all know off the bat.

Tried to rely fully on F-droid several years ago. That experiment went just fine until I needed up update the apps. Turns out, there wasn't a simple one button solution to that. I had to manually update each and every app one by one. Is it any better these days?

There are Russians who are more tech savvy than you would expect, but in average they're just like the rest. One would expect that in Russia, like everywhere, the kind of people hired to manage the IT infrastructure in most companies are not the "hacker elite" (unless the company gets one purely by luck) The only shocking thing here is that a military manufacturer - which one would expect to try a bit harder to find the kind of systems manager that can harden their internal systems - seems to have not properly hardenned/segregated their systems. Then again, maybe they're not totally incompetent and do have their mission critical stuff air-gapped and the damage done by the Ukranian hackers is less impactful than the headline implies. From the outside it's hard to tell.

Accountability isnt just about tax dollars, it's about preventing the unchecked power that leads to documented human rights abuses.

That was a feature where you could attach an analog receiver to their Goggles v2. They have since removed it in newer Goggle versions. Their system is basically a walled garden now.
