The Office of Defects Investigation (“ODI”) has identified numerous incident reports submitted by
Tesla, Inc. (“Tesla”) in response to Standing General Order 2021-01 (the “SGO”), in which the
reported crashes occurred several months or more before the dates of the reports. The majority
of these reports involved crashes in which the Standing General Order in place at the time
required a report to be submitted within one or five days of Tesla receiving notice of the crash.
When the reports were submitted, Tesla submitted them in one of two ways. Many of the reports
were submitted as part of a single batch, while others were submitted on a rolling basis.

Preliminary engagement between ODI and Tesla on the issue indicates that the timing of the
reports was due to an issue with Tesla’s data collection, which, according to Tesla, has now been
fixed. NHTSA is opening this Audit Query, a standard process for reviewing compliance with legal
requirements, to evaluate the cause of the potential delays in reporting, the scope of any such
delays, and the mitigations that Tesla has developed to address them. As part of this review,
NHTSA will assess whether any reports of prior incidents remain outstanding and whether the
reports that were submitted include all of the required and available data.

I still can't imagine how are they gonna accomplish safe self-driving tech without LIDAR. That's just playing with peoples lives.

    how

Not at all. The whole world knows that by now.

I think cars should communicate with each other as well with an open source, universal standard. Like real time data exchange that helps the self driving

I mean I can save them some time. I already knew why.

That'll probably be the way it goes. That does of course mean banning other cars from the road and I'm not sure how that's going to be implemented.

  • I still can't imagine how are they gonna accomplish safe self-driving tech without LIDAR. That's just playing with peoples lives.

Musk keeps saying humans don't have LIDAR so his cars don't need it either. That's the level of leadership at Tesla.

  • Sometimes investigation means finding out about all of the crimes committed. Not just the ones you definitely know about.

Although in this case it probably is just political assassination because trump's decided he's falling out with musk.

This is Analysis-Paralysis. Why should they spend all their time counting past crashes when they are busy increasing the production of new ones?

I don't like the idea of a single system. Over specialize and you breed in weakness.

Hmm, I wonder why they'd do that... I guess we'll never know.

Oh man, I'm a bit late to the party here. He really believes the far-right Trump propaganda, and doesn't understand what diversity programs do. It's not a war between white men an all the other groups of people... It's just that is has proven to be difficult to for example write a menstrual tracker with a 99.9% male developer base. It's just super difficult to them to judge how that's going to be used in real-world scenarios and what some specific challenges and nice features are. That's why you listen to minority opinions, to deliver a product that caters to all people. And these minority opinions are notoriously difficult to attract. That's why we do programs for that. They are task-forces to address things aside from what's mainstream and popular. It'll also benefit straight white men. Liteally everyone because it makes Linux into a product that does more than just whatever is popular as of today. Same thing applies to putting effort into screen readers and disabled people and whatever other minorities need. If he just wants what is majority, I'd recommend installing Windows to him. Because that's where we're headed with this. That's the popular choice, at least on the desktop. That's what you're supposed to use if you dislike niche. Also his hubris... Says Debian should be free from politics. And the very next sentence he talks his politics and wants to shove his Trump anti-DEI politics into Debian.... Yeah, sure dude.

So they established that language patterns measured by word frequency changed between 2022 and 2024. But did they also analyse frequencies across other 2-year time periods? How much difference is there for a typical word? It looks like they have a per-frequency significance threshold but then analysed all words at once, meaning that random noise would turn up a bunch of "significant" results. Maybe this is addressed in the original paper which is not linked.

Outlook.... Ok Pretty solid Bahaha hahahahaha Sorry. Outlook is a lot of things. "Gooey crap" would be one way to describe it, but "solid"? Yeah, no. Gmail is (well, was) pretty solid. There are a lot of other webmail providers out there, including self hosted options and most are pretty solid, yeah. Outlook, though? It's a shit show, it's annoying. Do you love me? Please love me, please give feedback, please give feedback again, please look at this, hey am I the best? Am I.. STFU YOU PIECE OF CRAP! Can you PLEASE just let me do my email without being an attention whore every hour? Even down to the basics. Back button? "What is that? Never heard of it, can't go back to the message I just was on because I'm Microsoft software and so half baked." Having two tabs open? "Oh noes, now I get scawed, now I don't know how to manage sessions anymore, better just sign you out everywhere." What is it with Microsoft and not being able to do something basic as sessions normal? I'm not even asking for good, definitely not "awesome", just normal, and that is already too much to ask. Try running it in Firefox! I'm sure it's totally not on purpose, just "oopsie woopsie poopsie" accidentally bwoken. Maybe it's working again today, who knows, tomorrow it'll be broken again. I run everything on Firefox except the Microsoft sites, they have to be in chrome because fuck you, that's why. Seriously, I can't take any Microsoft software seriously at this point, and all of it is on its way out in our company, I'm making sure of that

I kinda don't want anyone other than a doctor determining it, tbh. Fuck the human bean counters just as much as the AI ones. Hopefully we can just start growing organs instead of having to even make such a grim decision and everyone can get new livers. Even if they don't need them.
