Right, I see a handful of articles about the same handful of people. The hysteria is the media. Absolutely floored how no one else sees that the media is driving a weird campaign against AI. It's creating opinions.
I'm not saying AI is great. But I am saying fucking media is doing a thing and more people should be asking why

Why is the media reporting on a thing that’s happening?
Why are multiple sites writing about the same topic?
Must be an anti-AI conspiracy.

Fear mongering at its best but honestly, the fear of AI is warranted. Especially when goat fuckers like Musk are central in their creation.
Grok anyone?

It's happening in the same way that caravans of illegal immigrants are approaching the border

Yea I agree fully that having individuals that own the one or two platforms is bad.
I don't think much of the fear and panic is warranted though.
Honestly view these headlines the same way you'd view headlines about any other bullshit hysteria that media drums up. It's all so weirdly familiar.

Did your LLM tell you that?

The media hasn't been legitimate since 2010.
Example: CNN = Breaking News! Cow sneezes on side of road.

I don't necessarily think the MM is intentionality going against AI, they're just following what drives engagement and the mainstream tide is turning against AI (again, AI winter 3.0, here we go).
However, I did see that "AI causes delusions" article in the NYT together with the very hilarious conflict of interest notice: "The NYT is currently suing OpenAI for copyright infringement."
So who knows? It is entirely in the MM's interests to both write about AI (hot topic, much engagement) and also to make the AI companies look incompetent, reckless, and dangerous because that bolsters their cases against them.

I know, trump supporters say the same shit when you tell them they're acting like clowns too

This is so similar to crypto to me. The base technology and idea is great but many of the implementations are problematic and I have high hopes for it with free software, not for profit, and more boring uses around it.

Ok good example. The left took a hard stance. The right adopted it. A lot of right wing people made a lot of money with it regardless of its practicalness. They used that money to invest in each other.
The left somehow has become Luddites and they're falling behind yet don't see how that mentality is holding hobbling their progress

I wish I could ask chat bots important questions and trust them. It would be really helpful.

Falling behind in what way? Financial advantage? I’m not sure that the left have ever had that. How would adopting AI aid the left’s cause?

He's correct. Leftists and Liberals (myself included) see the dangers of A.I. and have been hardcore against its current stage of implementation while moderates make shitty AI cat videos and MAGA use it for deepfakes and other means of misinformation at the touch of a button.

Yeah, I agree that the left and liberals are broadly opposed to AI, and the right dove in headfirst. I just don’t get how lacking the ability to spew shitty cat videos and deepfakes means we on the left are hampering our own progress.

One of my buddies hates everything AI because it "impedes the integrity of art." Went on a tirade about AI art being shit and everyone who uses it being shit as well.
(This as I made an AI threesome of Trump, Netanyahu, and Putin. I also made a ladies night with AOC, Hilary, and Kamala.)
But realistically, many on the lefts deal with AI is one part virtue signaling and many parts against how AI is being used to displace white collar workers with substandard service (Expedia, health care, etc).

They also mindlessly broadcast whatever lies the CEOs of the big tech company's are telling. Do you complain about that pattern too? No? You just don't like anything negative about AI? Interesting.

This is the same line of thinking that MAGAts have. “Why is all the media against Trump? There must be a conspiracy against him!”
