I find it interesting that some of the other comments go on picking apart my thing, that basically boil down to military = bad, so right to repair = bad and its not a problem because they are already wasting money. Be glad something good is moving toward. Consumer rights have been increasingly stomped on by the mega corporations for years now, and they continuasly push the boundries. The very concept of a terms of service "contract" that can be changed anytime by 1 party (and heavily in their favor) is insane. The more control we get back the better.

I can’t help but notice that, for all the fancy formatting, that wall of text doesn’t contain a single line which actually defines the difference between “learning” and “statistical optimization”. It just repeats the claim that they are different without supporting that claim in any way. Nothing in there, precludes the alternative hypothesis; that human learning is entirely (or almost entirely) an emergent property of “statistical optimization”. Without some definition of what the difference would be we can’t even theorize a test

If you use LLMs like they should be, i.e. as autocomplete, they're helpful. Classic autocomplete can't see me type "import" and correctly guess that I want to import a file that I just created, but Copilot can. You shouldn't expect it to understand code, but it can type more quickly than you and plug the right things in more often than not.

Yup, and people seem to frequently underestimate how ridiculously expensive running a fleet of humanoid robots would be (and don’t seem to realize how comparatively low the manual labor it’d replace is paid.)
