Musk says next week? See you in like 2 years grok
When it’s useless features like games, “fart mode” etc. it’s a high priority for Tesla. When it’s something truly useful like improvements to cruise control then it’s years out.
So, yeah, I expect to see this in two weeks.

It just nuts that anyone would want this.
Probably nobody that isn't a rich tech bro or a brainwashed cultist does.
-
I find it quite telling that Elon Musk didn't make this announcement until Grok went full Hitler.
It's a Nazi car.

Wow, they really got the chatbot to sound like a right-wing debate bro shithead. They must have had a lot of training data laying around somewhere.

This is so stupid.
To me, "AI" in a car would be like highlighting pedestrians in a HUD, or alerting you if an unknown person messes with the car, or maybe adjusting mood lighting based on context. Or safety features.
...Not a chatbot.
I'm more "pro" (locally hostable, task specific) machine learning than like 99% of Lemmy, but I find the corporate obsession with cloud instruct textbots bizarre. It would be like every food corp living and breathing succulents. Cacti are neat, but they don't need to be strapped to every chip bag, every takeout, every pack of forks.

Tbh I always loved the idea of an opinionated car GPS/AI, just for fun, I always thought it would be hilarious if it gave instructions with an attitude or responded to the driver in kind, depending on what you throw at it. Still not buying a Tesla, just saying.
agreed, but it should be GLaDOS telling you she's going to kill you after you park, not a Nazi car trying to stoke its boss' fragile Nazi ego

I’m hoping it’s because cruise control needs to go through a lot more strenuous QA than an only-used-while-parked feature like a game, but at this point, who knows.

teslas are already death traps now elon can just program it to fill the car up with gas and realise his idols dream.

It's because that is the only thpe of machine learning/ai that C-suites and MBAs can wrap their head around. They keep pushing it because they need to look like they ar doing something at their know-nothing/do-nothing job.

Musk himself, that's what they trained it on
