Both ARM itself and Linux for ARM has been standardizing a fair bit recently. But not to the extent to be fully generic, mostly just enough for portable bootable kernels - and after that you still need all the same custom drivers and configurations to make proper use of a SoC, but it's not nothing. https://linuxgizmos.com/ebbr-spec-to-bring-standardization-to-embedded-linux-boot-process/

AI is devaluing other skills. I got an email today, from my own company, telling me I wouldn't have to renew my professional certification for 2 years if I passed an unrelated test on AI. The "test" was 10 questions. Glad to know my professional certification is equivalent to a 10 question pop quiz on AI.

AI needs to be regulated with an energy cap. If you need more capacity, optimise your AI. Don't just throw more electricity at it.

HMD feature phones are such a let down. The Polish language translation within the system is clearly automated translation - the words used sometimes don't make sense. CloudFone apps are also not available in Europe. The HMD 110 4G (2024, not 2023) has the Unisoc T127 chipset which supports hotspot, but HMD deliberately chose not to include it. I know because the Itel Neo R60+ has hotspot with the same chipset. At least they made Nokia XR21 in Europe for a while.

[image: be056f6c-6ffe-4ecf-a137-9af60aef4d90.png] You people are getting updates? I really hate that I cannot just do everything with the pocket computer I own that is running a supposedly free operating system.

The topic is more nuanced, all the logs indicate email/password combos that were compromised. While it is possible this is due to a malware infection, it could be something as simple as a phishing website. In this case, credentials are entered but no "malware" was installed. The point being it doesn't look great that someone has ANY compromises... But again, anyone who's used the Internet a bit has some compromised. For example, in a password manager (especially the one on iPhone), you'll often be notified of all your potentially compromised accounts. [image: 7a5e8350-e47e-4d67-b096-e6e470ec7050.jpeg]
