X has declined yes, but threads is growing. Loads more joining recently as well. Most seem to move from FB to threads because they have a Meta account, so have an Insta account soooooo.... Threads is a dumbed down X (I can feel the heat I'm gonna get for that) Meta is by far and away the largest for users - we all know it and it means that promoting threads inside Insta and FB means people will see what it is like. Here in the UK it is refreshingly free of ads, is quick to post/reply/interact and feels new. How long that will last is anybodys guess as per usual

Read again. I quoted something along the lines of "just as much a development decision as a marketing one" and I said, it wasn't a development decision, so what's left? Firefox released just as frequently before, just that they didn’t increase the major version that often. This does not appear to be true. Why don't you take a look at the version history instead of some marketing blog post? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/ Version 2 had 20 releases within 730 days, averaging one release every 36.5 days. Version 3 had 19 releases within 622 days, averaging 32.7 days per release. But these releases were unscheduled, so they were released when they were done. Now they are on a fixed 90-day schedule, no matter if anything worthwhile was complete or not, plus hotfix releases whenever they are necessary. That's not faster, but instead scheduled, and also they are incrementing the major version even if no major change was included. That's what the blog post was alluding to. In the before times, a major version number increase indicated major changes. Now it doesn't anymore, which means sysadmins still need to consider each release a major release, even if it doesn't contain major changes because it might contain them and the version name doesn't say anything about whether it does or not. It's nothing but a marketing change, moving from "version numbering means something" to "big number go up".

If AI gave you an accurate correct answer 99% of the time would you use it to find the answer to questions quickly? I would. I absolutely would, the natural language search of ai feels amazing for finding the answer to a question you have. The current problem is that its not accurate and not correct at a high enough percentage. As soon as that reaches a certain point we're cooked and AI becomes undeniable.

My understanding is that if they've lasted at least a month and haven't died on you, you probably got a "good" batch and what you have now will be what it stays as for the most part, but a fair number of gulikits just sort of crap out at the 1-2 mo mark. So heads up on that.

Hm. Checking my glasses I think there is something on the top too. I can see distance ever so slightly clearer looking out the top. If I remember right, I have a minus .25 in one eye. Always been told it didn't need correction, but maybe it is in this pair. I should go get some off the shelf progressive readers and try those.

There may be several reasons for this. If I had to guess, they found a critical flaw and had to shut it down for security reasons.
