No you rude fuck. If i ask a simple question about a subject, let's say foraging as a I do that a lot. And it's wrong, it's friggin wrong. I'll ask about a specific plant. Full disclosure this is one of my things. 40 years at it. Ok? No big stretch to think I know a thing or two. So I ask about let's say, Japanese barberry. An invasive plant that is hated by many and rightly so at times. The question is , is it edible? The answer given was no. The truth is the opposite. It is edible. Hell there's recipes online for barberry jam. Now don't go just eating them though. Smart to test one or two leaves to see if an individual is allergic. That's not part of the answer, that's foraging 101. But I digress. The a.i was wrong and then argued about it until I pulled up all of the evidence. The a.i then admitted it was wrong, but who cares? It's not alive. Winning an argument with a.i is like beating oneself at poker. Another example I'll ask about intervals in music ( guitar teacher as my main profession now, as my passion for 48 years). It got the major scale intervals wrong. I asked ask if yogurt can replace eggs as a binding agent to one of them (can't remember which, apologies ) and it said no. That's a friggin home ec tip that's been around for at least a century People who give dissertations don't brag about it. Especially to make a point in a thread. It only makes one seem like a person who isn't confident in what they're saying so they drop a line that they feel will impress others. It doesn't Others experience is as important, vital and real as yours, regarding the answers given by a.i , but you'll brush it off because you feel that some how you have more insight than others. You dont. You just have more time to pour through a.i's mistakes to massage it to getting something close to what you want. That shows an abundance of time available. Which means you aren't doing the things I'm talking about. Or it means this is something you do for your job and it works for those specific needs . Which is fine, but your needs are not the world's. My need have been poorly met by that tool you spouse. Much like a rake won't help a guy digging a hole, a.i is the wrong tool for most jobs. Which means your opinion of my evaluation of a. I results is skewed because you don't value others experience, no matter how intelligent you are. And that is a sign of ignorance. I wish you a good day

Incredibly well said. And couldn't agree more! Especially after working as a game dev for Apple Arcade. We spent months proving to them their saving architecture was faulty and would lead to people losing their save file for each Apple Arcade game they play. We were ignored, and then told it was a dev problem. Cut to the launch of Arcade: every single game has several 1 star reviews about players losing their save files. This cannot be fixed by devs as it's an Apple problem, so devs have to figure out novel ways to prevent the issue from happening using their own time and resources. 1.5 years later, Apple finishes restructuring the entire backend of Arcade, fixing the problem. They tell all their devs to reimplement the saving architecture of their games to be compliant with Apples new backend or get booted from Arcade. This costs devs months of time to complete for literally zero return (Apple Arcade deals are upfront - little to no revenue is seen after launch). Apple used their trillions of dollars to ignore a massive backend issue that affected every player and developer on Apple Arcade. They then forced every dev to make an update to their game at their own expense just to keep it listed on Arcade. All while directing user frustration over the issue towards developers instead of taking accountability for launching a faulty product. Literally, these companies are run by sociopaths that have egos bigger than their paychecks. Issues like this are ignored as it's easier to place the blame on someone down the line. People like your manager end up getting promoted to the top of an office heirachy of bullshit, and everything the company makes just gets worse until whatever corpse is left is sold for parts to whatever bigger dumb company hasn't collapsed yet. It's really painful to watch, and even more painful to work with these idiots.

For this comment, I want to be absolutely clear that I do not give a shit about AI, and that it in no way factored into my decision to buy this iPhone 16 Pro Max. With that disclaimer out of the way: I very much look forward to a class action lawsuit. Apple advertised specific features as coming ‘very soon’ and gave short timeframes when asked directly. And they basically did not deliver on those advertising promises. Basically, I think there’s a good case to be made here that Apple knowingly engaged in false advertising in order to sell a phone that otherwise would not have sold as well. Those promised AI features WERE a deciding factor for a lot of people to upgrade to an iPhone 16. So, I’ll be looking forward to some form of compensation. It’s the principle of it.

Edit: no, wtf am i doing The thread was about inept the coders were. Here is your answer: They were so fucking inept they broke a fundamental function and it made it to production. Then they did it deliberately. That's how inept they are. End of.
