In Militarizing Push, Russian School Children To Build Drones
-
Russia will soon teach high school students how to build and fly drones, which have become a key weapon in the war between Moscow and Kyiv.
“Right now, there’s a huge demand from both the state and society for unmanned aerial systems,” said Mikhail Lutskiy, head of educational projects at Geoscan Group, the leading drone manufacturer in Russia.
Russia last year launched a nationwide project called Unmanned Aerial Systems to promote both the domestic production of drones and preparation of drone pilots and other specialists starting with high school students.

Reminds me of this trailer I came across the other day.

What a tasteless take.
It’s bitter, not tasteless.

Careful, if you start teaching too much, some bored kid is gonna attach some "fireworks" and fly it into the Kremlin.

Positively dystopian.
-
It really is not cause nothing is as blatant as ruzi media
Propaganda is propaganda.
-
Gave me brave brew world vibes since they are essentially raising them up to be the foot soldier class. It would be even easier to draft them
Child soldiers are not Brave New World. More like shit old world.

Propaganda is propaganda.
All bad things are equally bad?

Unfortunately that's useless, the people needing to be hit are all kinda distributed over all of Russia, and the punishment is severe.
But teaching children to build tools for modern war is an absolute positive. Possessing an AK is no good for a revolution today anyway, while with small drones you can do a lot.
-
Thats what soviets did too. There were classes for gun assembly and shooting practice and its not a new thing.
I don't think military skill prep is a bad thing for small countries but coming from current ruzi administration is certainly is a bit on the nose. As in "training kids to terrorize country they invaded with semi-autonomous remote weapons" just doesn't ring the same as "military prep in case of invasion"
Teaching kids war is good in any case. Teaching kids that war is good is bad.

Yeah tbh I agree with you. These lessons should be left for adults no matter how you look at this issue.

Are we forgetting that the US has JROTC in schools? Literally training kids for the military...

Oh noooo!!! Scary Russians!!! jfc.
The indoctrination system in USA is completely controlled by the MIC. Almost all of the R&D is funded for violence. This starts way before college. Probably every kid will be working for the military at some point. Drones are just the tip of the iceberg:

Zero surprise that OP is overt imperial propaganda.

Seems to remind me of Hitler Youth for some reason...
️
Gotta wake up to the reality that USA is doing the exact same thing.
-
Are we forgetting that the US has JROTC in schools? Literally training kids for the military...
Yes and they literally have a drone competition. It's the exact same thing as russia.
-
It really is not cause nothing is as blatant as ruzi media
It only looks that way from inside the imperial bubble.
-
All bad things are equally bad?
Yes, most people think that lies in service to violent control is bad.

Positively dystopian.
Positively american.

Positively american.
No. We have our own dystopia, our kids get shot in the classroom. We don’t have them assemble the guns to kill other people.
Big difference.

Links to Radio Free Europe articles get posted way too often on Lemmy. It's just RT for the US government.
I don’t think that’s a completely fair comparison. They are both state tools for establishing power through narratives. They are both heavily biased.
But RT is Orwellian in that it just makes shit up and has no respect for even appearing credible. While RFE/RFL tends to be biased towards publishing pro-western stories, but they don’t tend to make shit up from scratch.
Of course, who knows what the fuck is happening there right now, my analysis is pre-Trump 2024.
