That’s true as far as the social media landscape is concerned. I was talking about the internet as a whole.

Wire Arc DED Additive Manufacturing has taken a back seat to Laser Metal Powder Bed Fusion for a while now, driven a lot by the air sector. But it is great seeing industry shift it's focus to Wire Arc. Larger scale components and better established feedstock supply (welding wire) with a lower cost of entry for equipment is an appealing proposition for many manufacturers. There is still the issue with qualification of additive parts. Slight issue with the article is with the supply of Ti64. Bringing the production capability in country doesn't fix the supply issue for high quality feedstock that is predominantly imported from China, Ukraine etc.

It's worth it to include a couple extra points on the current 'meta' of seed boxes. A lot of these servers that people set up to serve as an inbetween to torrent then watch via jellyfin etc - they are being set up with weak security. Usually read access is left wide open to get all these services working on the same directory where the movies are. They assume there's a little security through obscurity, but Google WILL manage to index this folder, and now when someone searches for that obscure 90s movie you torrented (with a few fun search arguments like intitle:), they're now able to access all your downloads. Sometimes these seed boxes have bandwidth use limits, where they might charge you if you suddenly use a few dozen TB, which will happen if you're showing up on Google! If they don't have bandwidth limits, you still might land in hot water with your hosting co because you're being a little loud with copyright infringement. You're showing up on Google. If you're not too worried about either of these things, go ahead and be a hero, leave that shit wide open because... If hosting a seedbox is way over your head or budget, just know a lot of them are left wide open for you to grab bits and pieces with near zero risk.

I have noticed that the search function is very unforgiving. Like, you have to search the exact title, because it will not find a partial name. That sucks that a lot of songs didn't come up. I've actually been pleasantly surprised with the content. Personally. A lot of my stuff that I thought was pretty niche I've been able to find. Are you noticing any specific genres are more difficult than others?

How are you going to evaluate long term effects without practical experiments? They clearly have the money and its much easier and efficient to launch a real MVP than to design a complex set of simulations and tests.

Melon Usk doomed their FSD efforts from the start with his dunning-kruger-brain take of "humans drive just using their eyes, so cars shouldn't need any sensors besides cameras." Considering how many excellent engineers there are (or were, at least) at his companies, it's kind of fascinating how "stupid at the top" is just as bad, if not worse, than "stupid all the way down."
