Thanks I'd rather my beer stay analogue

What’s next you tech bro wankers, is AI going to drink the pint for me?
… just when you thought they couldn’t force AI into any more things. The epitome of a solution in search of a problem
IPA without AI is just P ...?

This is what bugs me about our renewables transition. We should eventually be getting cheaper electricity due to solar overabundance and cost of production going to zero.
Instead, these data centers are gobbling up every free Watt the grid produces, not even paying premium for it, and we're soaking up the costs due to the price of the demand.
This then incentivizes anyone with a home solar setup to never give back to the grid at all, because otherwise you're feeding these assholes
I'm convinced this is on purpose. Politicians always say "we can't get rid of dirty energy until we have enough clean energy to replace it." Suddenly, when clean energy is good enough to replace it, businesses decide this shitty inefficient technology is needed, and it gobles up any power available. This creates a situation where we can never remove dirty energy because, no matter how much clean energy is produced, all the energy is also consumed.
I can't know for sure this is on purpose, but the timing sure is convenient for them. It makes the excuse to never regulate dirty energy perpetual.
I also think crypto could have been part of this scheme, but it suddenly died because "AI" is even better for the task of wasting energy.

Kind of like McDonalds ice cream machine?
They probably fancy a cute little 9.99$ subscription before you could use said machine. That you would have to buy first, of course

I asked an LLM client to name my last batch of homebrew. It suggested, "Phresh Pilsner". My 90 year old grandma would think that's lame AF.
I've tried using LLMs to name games for game jams and wow it's bad. It tends to recommend almost exclusively alliteration. There's nothing creative or interesting that comes out of it.

And take everything along with it, making the Great Depression a mere walk in the park in comparison.
...and the general public especially the poor is going to be saddled with the task of cleaning up the mess.

US Copyright Office ruled that AI generated content is not eligible for copyright.
Therefore, AI generated beer is actually Free Beer!
This is an interesting legal strategy. Let's see how it goes.
People can sell, idk—example—strawberries but they don't have a "copyright" to them (we will not delve into the discussion of copyright genome sequences here). Unfortunately, copyright not being applicable doesn't make things free when we look at the existing market.

Hello, I'm here to dive into the discussion of copyright genome sequences

“Not bad.” He burped, burped again. “Fizzy, though?”
“Because it’s fast acting. It was ditch water an hour ago. We sieved it, brought it up to room temp, dumped in the culture. It’s live, too—add some precursor, it’ll come back. Survives in your urine. Just save some, you want to make more.”
“Communist beer?” Hubert, Etc said. The best bon mot he could scrounge.
He was better when he had time to think.
“Nazdarovya.” She clicked her cup against his and drained it, loosing a bone rattling belch when she finished. She gave her chest a thump and scared out smaller burps, refilled the glass.
“If it comes out in pee,” Hubert, Etc said, “what happens if someone adds the precursor to the sewers? Will it turn to beer?”
She gave him a look of adolescent scorn. “That would be stupid. Once it’s diluted it can’t metabolize precursor. Flush and it’s just pee. The critters die in an hour or two, so a latrine won’t turn into a reservoir of long lived existential threats to the water supply. It’s just beer.” Burp. “Fizzy beer.”
Hubert, Etc sipped. It was really good. Didn’t taste like piss at all. “All beer is rented, right?” he said.
“Most beer is rented. This is free. You know: ‘free as in free beer.’” She drank half the cup, spilling into her beard. It beaded on the crinkly refugee stuff. “You don’t come to a lot of Communist parties.”
