No problem. I'm not happy with the current state of things either, but crossing one thing off the list, even if its lower priority to us, is still good for someone. I find it interesting that some of the other comments go on picking apart my thing, that basically boil down to military = bad, so right to repair = bad and its not a problem because they are already wasting money. Be glad something good is moving toward. Consumer rights have been increasingly stomped on by the mega corporations for years now, and they continuasly push the boundries. The very concept of a terms of service "contract" that can be changed anytime by 1 party (and heavily in their favor) is insane. The more control we get back the better.

Is the 30B calculated before or after Oracle arbitrarily increases their pricing for no reason?

It's clear you don't really understand the wider context and how historically hard these tasks have been. I've been doing this for a decade and the fact that these foundational models can be pretrained on unrelated things then jump that generalization gap so easily (within reason) is amazing. You just see the end result of corporate uses in the news, but this technology is used in every aspect of science and life in general (source: I do this for many important applications).

Hmm, you kind of lost me with these metaphors. No offence, I'm just not sure what is supposed to represent what here.

Are most people in "the west" worse off today than they were 150 years ago? Are there fewer well functioning democracies than there were then? Has no minority group seen any improvement in their freedom? Has there been no improvement in how people interact with each other? No improvement in poverty?

Especially when the poster does not disclose that it's AI. The perpetual Youtube rabbit hole occasionally lands on one of these for me when I leave it unsupervised, and usually you can tell from the "cover" art. But only if you're looking at it. Because if you just leave it going in the background eventually you start to realize, "Wow, this guy really tripped over the fine line between a groove and rut." Then you click on it and look: Curses! Foiled again. And golly gee, I'm sure glad Youtube took away the option to oughtright block channels. I'm sure that's a total coincidence. W/e. I'm a have-it-on-my-hard-drive kind of bird. Yt-dlp is your friend. Just use it to nab whatever it is you actually want and let your own media player decide how to shuffle and present it. This works great for big name commercial music as well, whereupon the record labels are inevitably dumb enough to post songs and albums in their entirety right there you Youtube. Who even needs piracy sites at that rate? Yoink!
