You can still enable uBlock Origin in Chrome, here is how

Firefox on iOS doesn’t offer any ad blocking. Vivaldi (and several other) Chromium browsers do. So for a good chunk of the mobile community, Firefox is not the best option.
Apple limits mobile browsers a shit ton. When you get Firefox on iOS, you don't get Firefox, you get what's basically a safari front end. This is the reason you can install uBlock Origin or other extensions on the android version of Firefox, but be unable on the iOS version.

I hate chrome with a passion and it really sucks that Firefox isn't as convenient for profiles, a feature I rely heavily on, although, I'm still switching. fuck ads and fuck data harvesting, I'd rather have a slightly less performant browser than be visually assaulted and have my performance tank.
I mean there is always floorp which has better profiles

Haven't heard of that one before, it's pretty interesting from first impressions though. I'll try it out tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks!

There is no such option "accepting ads". I will do everything in my power to block any type of ad in every device i own, no matter the diffuculty.
Oh definitely. I gave up ads about 20 years ago when I got rid of cable. Not a chance in hell I'm going back.

Use librewolf or fennec (Firefox forks)
IronFox for LibreWolf fans on Android.

I don’t think that comma belongs there
they were just making a statement and then also mentioning to use firefox

Thank you. Glad one person has the ability to actually comprehend what I said. Vivaldi - and several others - does as blocking on iOS right now.

Aaand, why bother?

I used ironfox too, just a lot of website functionality was broken using it. (At least for me and this was months ago).
Settled on fennec. -

This guy gets it

Lots of comments in here saying to just use Firefox, and they're entirely correct, but the one use case for articles like this I could think of is where you are forced to use Chrome at work but can still install extensions.

Ubo lite seems to work just fine for my needs, which is blocking yt ads. Everything else vivaldi or adguard catches

I'm struggling with the concept of people putting effort into using uBlock Origin with Chrome.

Is the uBlock Origin Lite TestFlight app only for Safari or is it system wide?
I'd love to benefit from it while using Firefox on iOS.
Installs as a Safari Extension, so I believe it is only for Safari and not for the «webkit core» itself that all browsers on iOS use.
Another option is the Orion browser from Kagi that supports desktop extensions like Ublock Origin.

Settled on fennec.I main ironfox and use a base version of firefox for the occasional websites that break.

Settled on fennec.Been using it with uBlock Origin in medium mode which breaks even more sites and I don't have much trouble with broken sites.
For the occasional website that just refuses to work, I use Cromite.
This, of course, will depend on the sites you use as well so YMMV.

I have to use Chrome to access a couple of sites that don't play nice with Firefox.

Or like, just switch already?

Why jump through all these hoops, and lessen the security of your browser in the process, just to do something that is being fully stripped out soon anyway?
Just install Firefox. It's not like you can't import your bookmarks and such.
For me, it's a bad case of complete aversion to change and my mind just not able to handle the *gestures at everything* right now to the point of dozing off due to sleep problems. All it takes to push me over the edge into a mental spiral is muscle memory messing up; At least 6 or so years since switching from Windows 7 to 10 I am still being driven mad because the same exact notch on windows 10 mouse sensitivity as it was in 7 is slightly more sensitive in 10 over 7. Likewise I've been using chrome for god knows how long now and when I tried going back to Firefox earlier this year I found that a lot of things are in different places on chrome as well as key combinations and extensions are not exactly the same in what and how they work or where their menu locations are or options. And yes I know I'll be forced to readapt once mv2 is phased out of chrome but for now I am just trying to hang on to whatever I can keep the same as everything in the world feels up in the air now. Having, officially diagnosed, mental illnesses is not fun alongside being stubborn at the worst times.
