Anecdotal, but every company I have worked for has banned using ad blockers, I’m guessing the risk from ads is lower than allowing extensions to read and modify all of your webpage data? I use them on all of my personal devices.

This reads like "old man yells at clouds" Like on one hand, sure, tiktok has accelerated the amount of info/media kids are latching onto. But also, remember street sharks? Remember pogs? Or floam? Like.. shits always been like this.

I am very interested in politics, but not on any kind of social media. The whole purpose of political discourse on sites like Twitter is to foster uninformed, extremist political posturing with no constructive or interesting discussion.

They use adiabatic coolers to minimize electrical cost for cooling and maximize cooling capacity. The water isn't directly used as the cooling fluid. It's just used to provide evaporative cooling to boost the efficiency of a conventional refrigeration system. I also suspect that many of them are starting to switch to CO2 based refrigeration systems which heavily benefit from adiabatic gas coolers due to the low critical temp of CO2. Without an adiabatic cooler the efficiency of a CO2 based system starts dropping heavily when the ambient temp gets much above 80F. They could acheive the same results without using water, however their refrigeration systems would need larger gas coolers which would increase their electricity usage.

What would a use case look like? I assume that the latency will make it impractical to train something that's LLM-sized. But even for something small, wouldn't a data center be more efficient?

So you pay taxes to Putin. Good to know who actually helps funding the regime. I suggest you go someplace else. I won't take this from a jerk from likely one of the countries buying fossil fuels from said regime, that have also supported it after a few falsified elections starting in 1996, which is also the year I was born. And of course "paying taxes to Putin" can't be even compared to what TG is doing, so just shut up and go do something you know how to do, like I dunno what.

Italy, and all of Europe, have always had a greater respect for personal and a lesser respect for business' profits than the U.S.
