JD Vance gets suspended from Bluesky 'just 12 minutes after first post': reports

Imagine not being American and having to read about the American soap opera in your technology community and everywhere else.
Hey! Whoa! Our government is NOT a soap opera!
Soap operas are entertaining, and have lots of revealing love affairs. Nobody is sleeping with J.D. Vance.
I mean, ew. It's J.D Vance! Do YOU want to sleep with J.D Vance? No? Yeah, exactly. Not a soap opera!

It becomes very fatiguing. Especially when the same article is posted in several places.
To make things worse, it's a trash article. It's literally just quoting another article. So it's bot scraped, bot written, title generated with zing and spooned to idiot cohorts on places like this, simply to garner traffic.
There are a lot of simple users on Lemmy, though they'd hate to admit it. But we have this post in this community with those comments, soooo..... GG, big brains
So it’s bot scraped, bot written, title generated with zing and spooned to idiot cohorts on places like this, simply to garner traffic.
And they say real journalism isn't dead!

Imagine not being American and using Bluesky. Or Mastodon. That's the vast majority of what's there if you speak English.

To be fair, I remember this EXACT same conversation on reddit in 2010. Back when republicans were bashing Obama for being Obama, and Obama responded by wearing a suit in a mustard color brown that conservatives LOST THEIR SHIT OVER on twitter.
I thought the suit looked spiffy!
And now, nothing has changed. Replace one politician with another, manufacture more outrage over stories that don't pertain to the rest of the world, and we all learn nothing.
And pretty soon, we won't NEED to learn anything! With the AI takeover at large, soon humanity will be nothing more than an easily controlled and manipulated mob, with no critical thinking skills to speak of, and all their thinking will be handled by the corporations with the sole purpose to create unregulated profits and nothing more.
What could possibly go wrong?

Imagine blocking US centric communities so you don't have anything to complain about.

Total non story. While I hate JD and think he shouldn't be allowed to spread his hate. He was suspended until they could verify it was actually him; then it was unblocked.
-
Was he not suspended in 12 minutes?
Yes and there's absolutely nothing news worthy about it unless you're trying to deceive people for profit.
-
Yeah it's inescapable really. Many people probably are more up to date with American politics than those of their own country.
Yep. I almost feel like I live in the USA. When in reality of course, the USA doesn't exist

Imagine not being American and having to read about the American soap opera in your technology community and everywhere else.
That's a problem I wish I had.

You take this sort of thing far more seriously than i do.
