Call it word salad, mashed potatoes or Peruvian causa, makes no difference to me. The fact remains that libertarianism is an American oligarch polemical strategy aimed at enabling corruption and keeping local plebs in line (because Americans respond particularly well to certain keywords and copytext). Denying that doesn't give you much credibility! Just think for a second how it makes you look! I saw all I needed by clicking a random article on the Cato's frontpage. It's is clear that they are demagogues and malicious. And I am willing to bet if we look at their funding, it is all run by oligarch/criminal groups. I am not going to deny basic facts about life "follow the money" based on some half assed rehortic. We good?

I have a rough idea of their efficiency as I've used them, not in professional settings but I wager it would not be too different. My point is more that it feels like the rugs are finally starting to get pulled. This tech is functionnal as you said, it works to a point and that point is enough for a sizeable amount of people. But I doubt that the price most people are paying now is enough to cover the cost of answering their queries. Now that some people, especially younger devs or people who never worked without those tools are dependant on it, they can go ahead and charge more. But it's not too late, so I'm hoping it will make some people more aware of that kind of scheme and that they will stop feeding the AI hype in general.

The amount of times the shit breaks down combined with the slower speeds means it doesn't really matter if they work 24/7 right now. Yes, robots are coming, but amazon has been acting like they will be here tomorrow since it's inception. The reality is robots that cost less than people that at least do comparable work in the same time frame is still a decade or 2 away optimistically. Amazon trying to force it doesn't change that. Amazon is to robots what meta is to vr. Dumping tons of money trying to force the 'future' today.

The cost of consuming media doesn’t match its worth. I never used ad blockers until they became invasive and disruptive.

I don't think so, and I believe not even the current technology used for neural network simulations will bring us to AGI, yet alone LLMs.

Back in the day I just assumed everyone was lying. Or trying to get people worked up, and we called them trolls. Learning how to ignore the trolls, and not having trust for strangers on the internet, coupled with the ability to basically not care what random people said is a lost art. Somehow people forgot to give other the people this memo, including the "you don't fucking join social networks as your self". Anonymity makes this all work. Eternal September newbies just didn't get it.
