Federation between NodeBB and Bookwyrm

@support@community.nodebb.org Hi there! Hope this gets through, first of all.
I'm testing federation between NodeBB and Bookwyrm. What I've found out:
- I can find a Bookwyrm account through the search
- I can get announcements from that account into my feed too (by copying the whole URL of that announcement), e.g. that the account wants to read a certain book. I can also move that into categories in the forum
- I can't follow the account. It says "Cancel follow request" where it should say "Following". On the Bookwyrm end, I've set the account to not manually approve followers. And usually people just follow the account without me having to approve it.
What's going on?
